August has arrived.
The August Almanac (2026)
Sunflowers open,
The sun rises overhead,
August has arrived.
When August arrives, it starts to feel like the beginning of the end. Summer is in its prime, but the mood has shifted. The nights begin to get a little cooler, and evening starts to approach a little earlier with each passing day. August feels like the ideal summer night—purple skies, campfires, and laughter among friends. Here, in The Monthly Almanac, I want to dive into several aspects of the August month that I find intriguing or that I would like to focus on throughout the course of this month.
Each month, I choose a theme to be the overarching focus for that month. I decided to choose Glow for August’s theme this year because the world itself seems to be in a golden glow this time of year. We’re in the golden hour of summer! Throughout the course of this month, I’ll try to make “August” synonymous with “Glow.” I do this in several different ways.
The Monthly Almanac is a compilation of different things, all of which I’ve carefully chosen to be a part of this month’s themed collection. August’s Almanac features:
A moodboard (and accompanying mobile wallpaper).
This month’s lunar calendar.
A ritual centered around this month’s theme.
An uplifting affirmation.
31 themed journal prompts.
Sounds good? I hope so! I spent a lot of time pulling all of this together, which is why The Monthly Almanac is for paid subscribers. You can upgrade your subscription to get a look at everything I’ve listed using the button below!
