Adventures
On simple adventures.
Happy Wednesday! I hope your week is off to a great start. This past weekend, I was reminded that you don’t need a planned out, grand adventure to have a memorable time. Sometimes, the best experiences are the ones that keep you close to home, spent entirely in the company of the people you love.
We kept things simple this time around. We went out to the movies to see Backrooms—and honestly, it was such a great time! It was an excellent movie that fueled the anxiety in me, which is something that’s hard to do when it comes to horror movies (I’m a horror fanatic, can you tell?). When you’re in a place that you can’t navigate or get out from while creatures are chasing you? That’s anxiety-inducing! Great movie! Now, time to rewatch the Backrooms series on YouTube.
After the movie, we decided to check out a new sushi spot called Manta. While it was a first for Dylan and me, my sister and brother-in-law had been there before, so they were our unofficial guides for the afternoon. It’s always fun trying a new place, but even better when you’re doing it with family who can steer you toward the best rolls on the menu. And in case you’re wondering, yes, the sushi was incredible.
The rest of the day was slow and easygoing, and while I always enjoy a weekend out and about on another great adventure, we all need a slow weekend every once awhile.
If you’re feeling stuck in your life right now, just take today’s column as inspiration. You don’t need to hike a mountain or explore a new city to have an adventure or create memories. You can just be present with your favorite people. That alone is adventure enough.
What about you? Did you have a small adventure this weekend? What memories did you make recently?

Bryant and I plan to watch the Backrooms and Obsession back to back this coming weekend!
